Congratulations, Shaun Robinson! The Emmy Award-winning journalist and "Access Hollywood" correspondent was honored with the 2011 Dove Real Beauty Award, at the 36th Annual Gracie Awards, held May 25 at the historic Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.
This black-tie gala event, hosted by Emmy Award-winning actress Patricia Heaton, brought out the best in world of media, including Holly Robinson Peete of CBS’ "The Talk", Yvette Nicole Brown from NBC’s "Community".
The Gracies, presented by the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation and sponsored by Dove, recognizes programming created for women, by women and about women in all media forms. The award also promotes positive portrayal of women in entertainment, news, features and other programs.
Shaun was presented with the Dove Real Beauty Award, which honors an individual who “best embodies and expresses the ‘substance and spirit’ of real beauty through her life and career”, for serving on the board of Girls, Inc. Shaun is also the author of Exactly As I Am: Celebrated Women Share Candid Advice with Today’s Girls on What it Takes to Believe in Yourself, discussing girls and self-esteem.
Another Emmy Award-winning journalist and best-selling author, Linda Ellerbee, took home the 2011 Gracias Tribute Award.
And continuing with the theme of girl power, Kimberley Locke rocked the stage with a performance last night at the Gracies. You can catch the whole thing when The Gracies Gala airs August 8 and August 12 on the Hallmark Movie Channel.
