Lauryn Hill has penned an open letter confirming her pregnancy to fans all over the world.
As we reported Monday, Lauryn Hill is coming off tour to have her sixth child, and she’s offering a mea culpa to loyals for cutting her tour short.
"Coming back home after several months of extensive reconnecting with supporters and music lovers," Lauryn wrote in a statement released this morning. "We thank you for your continued appreciation."
Lauryn recently told fans in Detroit that she’s expecting, but this is the first time she’s addressing her entire fanbase about her bun in the oven. "The majority of these dates were planned in advance of me knowing about the continued growth of my family (wink, wink)," she explained in her open letter.
While she was talking about her shows, she also spoke about her track record of standing fans up while on the road. Ever since Lauryn began doing dates last year, concertgoers have been complaining that she’s left them hanging for hours on end, only to produce lackluster or confusing performances.
"There were some shows that we started late," Lauryn admitted in her letter. "We apologize and thank you for your patience."
She closed by writing, "That said, I can’t wait to re-engage with you and give you a musical experience worth coming back for. Let’s do it real soon."
What Lauryn didn’t address in her letter, however, were denials from her beau Rohan Marley that he’s the father of her expected baby.
