Beyoncé is handling the leak of her upcoming album, 4, surprisingly well for someone who spent more than a year working on the project.
When "Till The End of Time" leaked, Bey’s people were quick to plug up all the holes, but when the entire album leaked, she had a very different reaction. In fact, she seems to be taking the whole thing in stride.
"My music was leaked and while this is not how I wanted to present my new songs, I appreciate the positive response from my fans," Bey said in a Facebook statement.
Typically, Beyoncé doesn’t speak on leaks; she just has her people clean up the mess. And it would stand to reason that something this huge would set the "Single Ladies" singer off, as she’s been crafting 4 for more than a year.
The modern-day diva has said that she experimented quite a bit with her music this time around, and producers working on 4 have said that she really upped the ante with the upcoming album.
"When I record music I always think about my fans singing every note and dancing to every beat," Bey stated. "I make music to make people happy and I appreciate that everyone has been so anxious to hear my new songs.
With 4 set to drop on June 28, this impromptu preview has some wondering if this leak was actually a way to test the market for her new music. After all, her lead single, "Who Run the World (Girls)," hasn’t done so well, and there’s no way Bey wants to release a flop.
