President Barack Obama probably shouldn’t expect a vote from Lupe Fiasco in the 2012 election.
While Will.I.Am, Diddy and Oprah Winfrey all rallied behind President Obama to get him into office in 2008, Lupe wasn’t really feeling him. And his opinion still hasn’t changed to this day; if anything, it’s probably gotten worse.
During a sit-down on CBS’s "What’s Trending," the Chicago lyricist called President Obama the "biggest terrorist" in the United States.
"I’m trying to fight the terrorism that’s causing the other forms of terrorism," told CBS. "You know, the root cause of terrorists is the stuff the U.S. government allows to happen. The foreign policies that we have in place in different countries that inspire people to become terrorists."
We’re guessing a beer summit probably won’t change Lupe’s stance.
This attitude doesn’t come as much of a surprise to any of Lupe’s fans who have heard his revolutionary track, "Words I Never Said." He raps, "Obama didn’t say s-/ That’s why I ain’t vote for him/ next one either/ I’m a part of the problem/ My problem is I’m peaceful."
Republicans shouldn’t automatically take Lupe’s Obama objection as mark on their tally, though. The MC doesn’t plan on voting for anyone in the election because he can’t vouch for their actions and decisions. For Lupe, if he can’t back a candidate 100 percent, he won’t back them at all.
"It’s meaningless," Lupe explained. "If I’m going to say I stand behind this person and write on a piece of paper that says, ‘Yeah, I stand for this person,’ then I have to take responsibility for everything he does, ’cause that’s just who I am as a human being."
