‘Basketball Wives’ recap: 6.14.11

Royce Reed reached her boiling point last night on "Basketball Wives."

Shaunie O’Neal said it best when she advised, "Be careful of who you talk to." Seems like a pretty simple rule to us, but somehow the ladies of "Basketball Wives" can’t seem to take that lesson to heart.

Monday’s episode was all about clearing up all the she said/she said that has been going on since this season began. Watching it just served to remind us that not everything someone says will always be kept within the privacy of one conversation. So it’s best to watch what you say and to whom. Yet again, a seemingly simple rule that the "BBW" team has yet to grasp.

Fans of the show know that no one will ever get confused about Royce or Tami Roman. If they’re not cool with you, you’ll know it. Royce especially doesn’t say much to those outside of her circle. She couldn’t really care less if Evelyn Lozada, Jennifer Williams and Shaunie like her. While she’s not obnoxiously nasty, she clearly doesn’t want to be bothered.

The only real friend she’s got on the show is Tami, who will fight if she even thinks she has been disrespected. Too bad for Royce, she can’t see Suzie Ketcham’s questionable interactions for what they seem to be. The way Suzie was cackling and cracking on Royce in last week’s episode still rubs us the wrong way.

Things are still a bit questionable with mean girl groupie Meeka Claxton, who seems to suffer severe selective amnesia any time someone asks her for a direct quote. She can’t ever remember what she said about who and when. Messy. Very messy.

To set the record straight about what Meeka may or may not have said about her, Royce decides to have a little one-on-one with the "BBW" newbie. Thankfully, after their chat, the two seem to be on the same page. They’re cool, but they aren’t exactly BFFs.

Once that’s settled, Royce has a showdown with Evelyn and Jennifer. Although Suzie may have set it up with the intention of getting everyone to squash their issues (preferably ending in a weepy group hug, backed by "We Are Family"), that’s so not how it went down. Royce kind of came out guns blazing for the cocktail conference, but she was straight up about her feelings without calling anyone any names…at first.

For their part, Evelyn and Jen seemed to want a fight because they were talking slick before Royce and Suzie even got there. No matter how you slice it, there was going to be a rumble—it was just a matter of who flung the opening drink. Turns out it was Evelyn, and we’re not surprised.
