Baby stops Bow Wow’s suicidal thoughts

Not so long ago, Bow Wow was contemplating suicide; but now with a baby girl, and the support of his friends and fans, he realizes he has everything to live for.

“The suicide thoughts just really came because I think earlier I was exposed to so much, Uncle Russ, to the point to where I kinda felt like it ruined my adulthood,” Bow Wow told Russell Simmons.

“I just got so stressed out because I felt like I did everything too fast, and it didn’t leave me with nothing to look forward to,” said Bow Wow who explained that he was going to nightclubs when he was still a teen.“Now that I have my daughter, I don’t even have those thoughts no more. Now, it’s like I got something to live for."

Bow Wow, who admitted that he withheld the information about his daughter’s paternity for a while because he didn’t know how people would respond, was surprised by the outpouring of support and encouragement he received from fans and media whom he feels are oftentimes judgmental.

“I wrote it from the heart. So when everybody accepted it… I couldn’t believe it! I was like, ‘Oh man, this is crazy!’” he said in reference to the open letter he posted on his website, confirming that he is the father of a little girl named Shai.

Shai’s mother, model Joie Chavis, didn’t seem to appreciate Bow Wow’s letter quite so much. “Some people are so quick to point the finger but blind to their own bad character and behavior,” Joie tweeted Wednesday.

Although Bow Wow expressed his strong love for Shai in the letter, he managed to throw a few subtle jabs at Joie. It doesn’t sound like the three will be living happily ever after anytime soon, but Bow Wow said that won’t keep him from being an ideal father—something he never had.

“I never had my father in my life … ever!" Bow Wow explained. "So this just makes me want to step up and just go harder even more and give her everything my father never gave."
