Beyoncé celebrates a breakup
Beyoncé couldn’t be happier that her former flame messed up his chances with her in the video for "Best Thing I Never Had." The singer, whose new album 4 is expected to attain a second week at #1, is getting ready for her wedding in the clip released today.
As Bey dresses up for her big day, she is reflecting on her first love. She flashes back to a disastrous prom night where her date ignored her and left her hanging on the dance floor. Thankfully, the man she ends up marrying has better manners and even takes her for a twirl!
Our question, though: Who’s thinking about their rotten ex-boo when they’re about to walk down the aisle?!
Rihanna takes up bellydancing
Rihanna’s keeping in shape by learning the ancient art of bellydancing. According to The Mirror, the singer was looking for a fun way to keep her tummy tight, so she enlisted the help of a professional from Morocco to get her core coordinated.
"She loves bellydancing and has been getting all her dancers to join in. They’ve even had a few private Arabian-themed parties," said one source, who thinks RiRi will bring her new hobby to the stage. "We shouldn’t be surprised to see a little of this influence when Rihanna goes on tour later this year."
Amerie preps spring release
It seems Amerie has jumped over the broom and right into the recording studio. The newlywed told Essence.com that she’s piecing together a new album titled Cymatika. The studio project gets its name from cymatics, the study of visual sound.
"Right now I’m continuing the recording process for the album," said Amerie, who is taking her sound in a different direction for the forthcoming release. "The last album was very hip-hop soul, R&B, and rock, but this time I fused electronica and new wave and a lot of classic song structure."
Cymatika isn’t done quite yet, but she said fans can pick it up "probably, like, spring next year."
Wendy Williams mixes it up with ‘Mob Wives’
Wendy Williams may have a new career as a reality show reunion host. Wendy was in the middle of the fray as Renee Graziano and Carla Facciolo, of VH1’s "Mob Wives," fought about an incident between Renee and Carla’s boyfriend.
Wendy also hosted the "Braxton Family Values" reunion last month, but the Braxtons never got it crackin’ like this.
Of course, Wendy had to ask Drita D’avanzo about her rooftop rumble with Karen Gravano during the season finale, too!

John Legend accused of stealing song
An undiscovered artist has filed a lawsuit against John Legend claiming that John stole a song off his demo tape, TMZ reports.
The lawsuit filed earlier this week in New Jersey alleges that after songwriter Anthony Stokes watched John perform a few years ago, Anthony passed his demo tape to the "Ordinary People" artist.
Allegedly John promised to listen, but never got back to Anthony. Then in 2006, John released a single called “Maxine’s Interlude” that Anthony claims has the same sound as his track “Where Are You Now?”
Anthony wants to stop John from selling the alleged rip-off and demands unspecified damages, according to TMZ.

Andre 3000 might play Jimi Hendrix
Up-and-coming actress Hayley Atwell, who will star in this summer’s Captain America with Chris Evans, gave wind to the possibility that Andre 3000 may play Jimi Hendrix in a possible biopic of the guitar legend, the New York Daily News reports.
Hayley told Esquire that her next project is “possibly a Jimi Hendrix biopic” with Andre 3000 playing the lead role.
Reportedly Andre 3000 has been hoping to play Jimi Hendrix since 2004. This may be his year.
NAACP takes shots at CNN
In a press release issued this morning, the NAACP criticized CNN for showing a lack of diversity in their recently announced primetime news lineup, The Wall Street Journal reports.
“The NAACP is deeply concerned with the lack of African-American journalists in primetime news, both on cable and national news shows,” NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous said in the statement.
He continued, “We have come to expect this from the likes of Fox News, but not other networks. While we understand that news is now a 24-hour cycle, most Americans get their news from the morning and evening primetime broadcasts.”
CNN has yet to respond.
Mekhi Phifer returns to TV
Mekhi Phifer will star in the highly anticipated show, “Torchwood: Miracle Day.”
Mekhi spoke to Access Hollywood about the show and his role. “Our series is called “Miracle Day” and basically what happens is, it’s a phenomenon that happens all around the world where no one is dying,” he said.
He continued, “And basically I play a CIA agent who is extremely dedicated to the case and I wind up joining this Torchwood team to try to find out what the hell this phenomenon is and who’s behind it.”
Mekhi said he would describe the show as a “’24’ meets ‘X-File’s’." The show premieres tonight at 10 p.m. on Starz.
Chubb Rock shows up on ‘Marriage Rep’
Rapper Chubb Rock and his wife went on NBC’s Marriage Rep to battle it out about money, groupies and losing weight.
Chubb even spoke about his problem with his wife’s 365 fake ponytails. “If you have one or two ponytails, three ponytails, four, that’s cool,” he said. “When you’ve gotten into the hundreds then we get to an obsession.”
“I’m a woman. What woman has one, two, three of anything,” his wife shot back.
The couple continued debating about relationship issues in front of the show’s panel Regis Philbin, Susie Essman and Tracy Morgan.
According to NBC, "Marriage Rep" examines real-life married couples’ disputes. Eventually, the judges help the couples come to resolutions. The show airs Sundays at 10 p.m.
