There’s more proof surfacing to support the rumor that Marlo Hampton is the newest “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” cast member, while Dwight Eubanks has announced his departure.
Marlo recently attended an Atlanta event and was described as a “TV personality and philanthropist” in press materials, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Marlo, who has admitted to having a sordid criminal past, hasn’t been on any TV series as of yet, so it’s believed the press release was referring to season 4 of “Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
She’s already been seen with many of the current cast members, including NeNe Leakes and Phaedra Parks.
Speaking of NeNe and Phaedra, their old friend Dwight won’t be around anymore to help host fashion shows or plan baby showers.
The 50-year-old hairstylist is the latest reality star to take issue with the portrayals offered on popular Black reality shows.
“We can entertain you, but you still need to be educated. That’s what’s lacking in the television industry. It’s so much buffoonery and craziness out there. I just can’t do it. I refuse to do it,” he said.
That’s not the only reason for Dwight’s departure. He also said the show didn’t give him the shine he was after.
“I only did ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ to promote [my business] and out of three years, they have not yet shown what I really do,” he said. “I’ve had a salon for over 25 years and they just refuse to show it. It does not make sense.”
If one judges by the show’s title, “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” then the lack of airtime for Dwight’s business does make sense.
Dwight is not a housewife. Of course, since Sheree Whitfield, Kandi Burruss and Kim Zolciak are all unmarried, it’s easy to understand why Dwight is confused that he’s not a bigger part of the show, despite his failure to fall in the “housewife” category.
Marlo’s addition to the cast still hasn’t been made official by Bravo.
