Amy Winehouse autopsy inconclusive

Authorities say that tests done on the body of Amy Winehouse have failed to determine a cause of death.

E! News reports that it could take another month to find out what killed the Grammy-winning soul singer who had struggled with substance abuse for years, as an autopsy has proved inconclusive. Coroners will run more toxicology tests, but results could take two to four weeks to come back.

According to, Amy was found dead in her London apartment on Saturday morning by a member of her security team, who immediately called an ambulance, . By the time emergency crews arrived to Amy’s place, she had already passed on.

Initial reports didn’t specifically state that Amy had died. However, police said they found the body of a 27-year-old woman at the address matching Amy’s apartment.

Although it’s not clear what led to Amy’s tragic death, authorities don’t believe it was the result of foul play.

"The scene was investigated by police and determined non-suspicious," a rep for the London coroner’s office told reporters.

An inquiry into Amy’s death has been held until October 26.
