Chad Ochocinco has come up with a surprising solution for his housing situation: He plans to move in with an NFL fan.
When the NFL lockout ended, Chad became the new wide receiver for the New England Patriots. But while he settles in with a team, he needs a little help getting accustomed to his new surroundings in Boston.
His fix? The baller told ESPN that he’ll be moving in with a fan for the first few weeks of the NFL season.
"I’m going to do something different. I’m actually going to stay with a fan for the first two, three weeks of the season," he explained, adding that he looks forward to the experience. "That should be fun, until I get myself acclimated and learn my way around."
Chad, who is currently engaged to Evelyn Lozada of "Basketball Wives," hasn’t chosen who he’ll stay with just yet, but his chief requirement for a roomie is that he or she absolutely must have an Xbox.
He’s not picky, but it’s one of the few things he asks. "I’m not sure how it’s going to work, but they have to have Internet. They have to have Xbox," said Chad. "That’s about it."
It would also help if his roommate was familiar with the area because Chad will probably need someone to show him around.
"The way I learn a new city is by traveling out, adventuring out, getting lost on purpose," the NFL player shared. "This past weekend, I was a little frustrated because I was lost for about an hour, an hour and 30 minutes, and I couldn’t get where I needed to. (But) that’s it. Boston, or actually heaven, has been good."
According to his teammate, this isn’t just a publicity stunt. "We talk about this nonsense in the locker room," Deion Branch told ESPN. "Hopefully he won’t get fined for it."
For those wondering if Chad is really serious about moving in with a fan, he simply said, "Have I ever lied to you before?"
