Garcelle Beauvais talks single life

Garcelle Beauvais is getting reacquainted with the dating scene after a very public divorce.

Garcelle hasn’t given up on love after splitting from CAA Agent Mike Nilon. The pair divorced back in March, almost two years after she initially blasted his infidelity in an e-mail sent to his colleagues.

The "Franklin & Bash" actress has seemingly bounced back, but settling down again just isn’t a priority for her right now. Truth be told, she’s still getting a handle on how dating has changed since she said, "I do."

"I’m going out and staying busy, but in terms of a relationship, I’m not ready for that. When I don’t have the boys [sons Jaid and Jax], it’s still an adjustment for me," Garcelle told "I’m dating here and there. It’s weird, though, because I haven’t been single [for] 11 years."

Right now work and her sons are the most important things in Garcelle’s life, but she admits that Jaid and Jax do take precedence.

"I feel guilty all the time. And now that I only have them half the time, I try not to do anything when I have them, like go out," Garcelle said, recounting a particularly bad pang of guilt she felt for taking 90 minutes to go shopping with her sister last weekend. The actress has even brought her babies with her to work, which sometimes makes shooting a little difficult, but she takes the challenges in stride.

"You do the best you can. It’s about quality time, especially now that I only have them half of the time," explained Garcelle. "I try not to have my phone around when I’m with them. We’ll go to Target, which is their favorite store. Absolute favorite."
