    Fantasia breaks for baby

    Fantasia has been ordered to take a break from the stage. HelloBeautiful.com reports that the "I’m Doing Me" singer, who recently revealed that she’s pregnant, has been put on bed rest by her doctor.

    Per her doctor’s orders, Fantasia has backed out of her performance at the Bronner Bros. International Hair Show tomorrow. Kelly Price will stand in for her.

    Anika Noni Rose gets haunting new gig

    Anika Noni Rose has scared up some more work that might utilize her lovely singing voice.

    According Variety magazine, the Princess and the Frog actress has signed on to star in the Stephen King mini-series "Bag of Bones." The TV adaptation will be based on his book of the same name.

    Anika is set to play a blues singer named Sara Tidwell. The siren haunts main character Mike Noonan, who will be played by Pierce Brosnan.

    Kardashians offer wedding advice for Kim

    Just hours before becoming Mrs. Kris Humphries, Kim Kardashian’s family is offering her a few words of advice, E! News reports.

    For instance, her sister, Khloé, who is married to Lamar Odom of the Los Angeles Lakers, thinks Kim and Kris should take a moment to really sit back and take in the festivities.

    "It’s not about having everything perfect," said Khloé, who wed Lamar within a month of their first date. "Someone told me that at some point in your wedding, take your husband and just stand in a corner and just kind of be quiet and look and enjoy the whole presence of it."

    "Enjoy every moment," Kim’s mom, Kris Jenner advised. "Take mental snapshots. Just remember everything. It goes by so fast. All of a sudden, it’s going to be over in a blink of an eye, and I just want her to remember every single second."

    Of course, camera crews will be on-hand for the event. Fans of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" will be able to watch the nuptials when E! airs the two-part special,  "Kim’s Fairytale Wedding," starting October 9 at 8 p.m. EST.

    ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ winner arrested

    There’s no way she could have lip-synched her way out of this one! According to TMZ.com, season 2 winner of "RuPaul’s Drag Race" Tyra Sanchez was arrested in Georgia for alleged possession of marijuana.

    Reportedly, the drag queen was riding in a car that was pulled over on Tuesday night because it had an illegal window tint. The police report states that authorities noticed "an odor of raw marijuana" and a search of the car turned up "loose green leafy material consistent with marijuana."

    Both Tyra and the driver were arrested, but Tyra was released Wednesday afternoon by posting bond. Once the performer was free, she hit up Twitter to comment on the ordeal.

    "Arrested over a freakin costume? WTF? Something must and will be done," Tyra tweeted yesterday, making no mention of the pot. "I’ve never been so terrified."

    Lil Wayne pepper sprayed

    A Lil Wayne party in Montreal came to an abrupt end on Thursday night when pepper spray was released into the ventilation system at the venue.

    The party was evacuated and there were know reports of serious injuries, but authorities are investigating the incident.

    Was it an attack against Lil Wayne? No one’s sure, but reps for the rapper told TMZ that Weezy was “okay and gearing up for his next stop in Toronto.”

    Watch the ‘T.O. Show’ season 3 premiere

    T.O., Kita and Mo are back for season 3 of VH1’s “The T.O. Show.”

    TV fans can watch the new season, beginning Monday at 9:30 p.m. (ET), but online viewers can watch the full episode now.

    The premiere episode finds T.O. struggling to bounce back from an injury that could end his career.

    “I know my career is going to end at some point. You obviously want it to end on your own terms, and sometimes for some people, it doesn’t happen that way,” he said.

    Shirley Strawberry gets her props

    Shirley Strawberry is getting some props Black book community after writing her advice book, The Strawberry Letter.

    The "Steve Harvey Morning Show" co-host is up for the 2011 African American Literary Award. “

    I’m humbled and grateful.  It truly is an honor to be nominated," Shirley said in a statement. "Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined this!  Thank you to the Aftican American Literary Awards!”

    Sherri will find out if she won when the 2011 African American Literary Awards take place on September 22 in New York City. She’s already got one ringing endorsement from box office powerhouse Tyler Perry, who said, “Only a woman who lives life with purpose and divine revelation can inspire people through her advice, and that is Shirley.”
