Dwayne Johnson sells show to NBC

Apparently, NBC smells what the Rock is cooking because the network is giving him a show!

Deadline.com reports that Dwayne Johnson and Jerry Bruckheimer have just sold a wrestling drama to the network.

The as-yet untitled show will center on the world of professional wrestling and will be set in the ’80s. Dwayne and Jerry will act as executive producers on the show, and both men seems to be pumped for the project.

"Look forward to teaming up with @THEROCK on exciting new wrestling project," Jerry tweeted. Dwayne chimed with, "Kickin’ A*s! Excited to partner up w @BruckheimerJB & @NBC to create 1980’s wrestling TV drama."

There is no  word when a pilot for the series will make it to air or whether Dwayne will appear on the show. However, he has a very intimate knowledge of the wrestling industry after working with the World Wrestling Federation (now known as World Wrestling Entertainment) from 1996 to 2003.

Dwayne first stepped into the spotlight as The Rock and quickly became a fan  favorite by smacking his opponents with moves like The People’s Elbow.
