There’s word that T.I. is set to be released from prison as early as tomorrow, but his lawyer said he’s staying put.
Earlier this week, DJ Drama sparked speculation that the Atlanta rapper could be getting out on Wednesday by tweeting, "8/31 — #kingback. @Tip."
T.I.’s serving an 11-month-sentence at Forrest City Correctional Facility for violating his parole last year, just weeks after he wed Tiny. The couple was pulled over in Los Angeles and he was arrested on drug charges when police found narcotic substances in his vehicle.
Tip’s lawyer, Jonathan Leonard, cleared up the rumors by informing XXLMag.com that the "Live Your Life" rapper is still getting out on September 29 as scheduled. He acknowledged, however, that the date could change in the next month.
If his release date does change, it’s unlikely that T.I. would have a lot of advanced notice.
"The Bureau of Prisons they won’t give you the information [of his release] until the very last minute," Jonathan said, noting that the Bureau is the body that determines when a prisoner will be set free. "You don’t have any real contact with them; they don’t communicate with you and they don’t tell you when exactly he’s gonna be released."
