After twitter confirmations and word of a few unexpected performances, we think it’s safe to say that a new album from Rihanna can be expected relatively soon.
Debuting at #1 on the hip-hop/r&b charts, and three on the Billboard charts, Rihanna’s last album LOUD saw much success. It’s no wonder then, why fans have been so eager to see what the follow-up to the 2010 album will hold.
Though there’s no definite date established , the ‘Cheers’ singer responded to a fan’s tweet saying that the album would be out “THIS FALL!”
The 23-year-old also hinted at the sound of the new project. “You KNOW how I been lovin Dubstep since Rated R”, she tweeted. Just two days later, in response to another fan’s inquiry about the album’s theme, she said “GanstaR.”
And she should know, because according to an interview with MTV, the album has been in its final stages since July. Back then, “Man Down” producer Verse Simmonds talked to MTV News’ Mixtape Daily about the album’s progress.
"From what I understand, she’s closing the album up now, and we did two records for her that she really, really loved, and I’m really excited about them as well," Verse said. "They are records that we wrote and produced as the Jugganauts."
He added that his tunes on the LP will not sound similar to "Man Down."
Her newest single is suspected to be produced by Calvin Harris. According to MTV Pop Line, she’ll be premiering it live at her performance at Rock in Rio.
