President Obama to chat with BET

President Obama is making a little time to directly answer questions from Black America.

BET has announced that President Obama will be sitting down with the network to have a frank discussion about the state of the economy. This will be his first one-on-one chat on the financial crisis with the network.

The special, titled "A BET News Exclusive: The President Answers Black America," will actually be the first in a series that BET will present between now and the 2012 presidential election.

“We are thrilled to be the platform where the President will exclusively address our community,” President of Original Programming at BET Networks Loretha Jones said in a statement. “This conversation is particularly important given the impact the economic environment is having on African-Americans.”

Viewers can submit their questions for the president on Twitter using the hash tag #AskObama or on Facebook. Failing that you can always visit to tell interviewer Emmett Miller what you want to know.

BET will only select one question to ask the president during the broadcast, so make it a good one. Tune in to BET tonight at 7:30 p.m. EST or Centric 8 p.m. to see what President Obama has to say.

First Lady Michelle Obama also made an appearance on TV last night during the season premiere of "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition."

Michelle pitched in to upgrade the home of Navy veteran Barbara Marshall, who opened her own home to help homeless female verterans.
