    Trey Songz reps Rocawear fragrance

    Trey Songz is putting in work as the new face of Rocawear’s new scent, Evolution. The R&B crooner, who has been repping the brand for about a year, told AllHipHop.com that he is excited about the cologne because he believes in it.

    "I only had one requirement: that it would smell like something I would actually wear," Trey said. "It’s very strong, very masculine, yet at the same time, not too much in-your-face."

    Apollo Theater holding amateur auditions

    The Apollo Theater is calling all amateurs to the stage for a shot at stardom. The legendary theater will be holding auditions for Amateur Night on October 1 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Only the first 300 acts to show up will be seen.

    Only those without a recording or acting contract with a major studio are eligible to compete. Anyone trying out for Amateur Night should leave profanity at the door.

    Kids between the ages of 5 and 15 are allowed to compete in the Child Star of  Tomorrow category. For more details, click here.

    Jason Derulo dishes on Jordin Sparks

    Jason Derulo has thrown cold water on rumors of a hot romance with Jordin Sparks. Despite reports that the two recently got cozy during his birthday dinner, Jason said he and Jordan are just friends.

    Their relationship status (whatever it is) could become a hot topic as Jordin is set to star in the remake of Sparkle alongside Tika Sumpter, who has also been romantically linked to Jason.

    KeKe Palmer, Queen Latifah and Dolly Parton star in the upcoming, film Joyful Noise, hitting theaters in January 2012.

    In the film, Latifah plays KeKe’s mother and the reluctant director of a church choir. That doesn’t sit too well with Dolly, who isn’t afraid to express her discontent.

    Will they be able to put their differences aside and get it together in order to win a competition?

    ‘Luther’ is back

    London detective John Luther, played by Golden Globe nominee Idris Elba, returned to BBC America Wednesday night for a second season.

    Luther, whose estranged wife was murdered in season one, is still fighting demands and bad guys. This time, he’s after a serial killer who likes to have an audience watch his violent deeds.

    The new season of “Luther” airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST on BBC America.

    The Time announces new name, album

    Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis and their group The Time are coming back with a new project and a new name.

    The group, which includes Morris Day, has announced that it will release its first album in 21 years, titled Condensate, under the name The Original 7ven. Jerome Benton, Jellybean Johnson, Jesse Johnson and Monte Moir round out the band.

    Condensate will be in stores on October 18.
