Terrell Owens was recently rushed to the hospital for a possible overdose on prescription pills.
The NFL free agent was taken to a hospital in Southern California on Monday after a 911 call, TMZ.com reports.
Terrell’s camp has declined to comment as attempts to reach his handlers and his girlfriend were not returned. While, T.O. did speak to officers at the facility before he was released, it’s not clear what he said.
T.O., however, did tweet a link to a video of him training that was supposedly taped the same day as his hospital visit.
The New York Daily News reports that this is not the first time that the NFL player has been taken to the hospital because of prescription pills. In 2006, he was admitted for what he described as a bad reaction to pain killers.
Police documents surrounding the 2006 incident, hinted that Terrell might have intentionally overdosed on Vicodin. He later denied reports that doctors had to pump his stomach, as well as speculation that he’s depressed.
T.O., who is currently rehabbing his knee, is not currently signed to a team, but he said he plans to be back on the grid-iron by November.
