Mary J. Blige is going to celebrate her sophomore album My Life with a special show in New York City.
Seventeen years after Mary dropped My Life, the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul is reminding music lovers where her journey began.
According to MTV News the "25/8" singer is putting together a concert at Terminal 5 in New York on November 23, just two days after My Life II: The Journey Continues (Act 1) is released.
So why is Mary focusing on the past, when she’s got a new album to promote? "I think My Life is so relevant now and will always be relevant," said Mary. "It’s etched in stone in the music world and people’s personal lives because it was the very first time that someone said something that people were thinking."
She continued, "I was speaking from my own life and my own trials and tribulations. Turns out 4 million other people were feeling the exact same thing at the same time."
This exciting news comes just as Mary shoots the video for her next single "Mr. Wrong," in which she embraces her inner rock goddess with a curly mohawk!
