Tyra Banks was so stressed out while writing Modelland that it was causing her hair to fall out!
So not fierce.
The model-turned-media-mogul told the Wall Street Journal that getting her novel on the market was an intense experience made all the more daunting by trying to prove herself as a serious author.
Although Modelland is a series that has been years in the making, Tyra had a hard time fitting it into her already packed schedule as she taped episodes for "America’s Next Top Model."
"In the beginning it was me trying to fit it in. I was staying in Lake Como shooting ‘Top Model’ and I was working on it on the off-days," she said. "It was a passion, so the discipline wasn’t hard. It was finding the time that was hard, and that was stressing me out and I felt the product was suffering."
Tyra was really pushing herself to crank out pages at a rapid pace because her publisher thought much of the work was already done in her skeleton of the hefty book.
"Because my outline was so robust—40 pages long—they thought I could do it faster. My chapters are between 11 and 15 pages, and I could never finish one in one day," Tyra explained. "[In] hindsight, that wasn’t healthy. How can I say this without tearing up? I got a little alopecia from the stress."
One thing that’s not stressing Tyra out is her love life.
"We do want to have kids. We don’t really talk about marriage necessarily," she told Wendy Williams. "You don’t have to have a ring on your finger to say ‘I love you.’"
