T.I. denies prison handjob

Since being released from a halfway house late last month, the self-proclaimed “King of the South” has wasted no time promoting his latest ventures, including a new album. But more surprising is that he recently released a novel—a love story featuring a female protagonist—and that he and his wife, Tiny, plan to write a book about relationships.

When T.I. recently visited New York’s Power 105 radio station as part of his media blitz, he was questioned about the irony of him—a trap rapper with a Playboy image—penning a book about relationships, to which he responded with a self-mocking laugh, almost as if he knows it’s a far-reaching prospect.

Co-host Angela Yee took T.I. to task and asked him to help her with her own love life, wondering if her strict requirements for partners—first on the list being monogamy—are the cause for her celibacy.

T.I. froze for a moment, staring at her before dropping his head, smiling, as if to suggest she’s asking for the impossible.

He then went on to encourage women to date men who earn less money but then condemned a woman’s ambitious approach to a career that may involve attending many social events, saying, “that’s gonna be a problem” for a relationship.

When it’s brought to T.I.’s attention that another of the show’s hosts has been in a relationship with a woman for 13 years with no plans for marriage in sight, though, immediately defends the lengthy courtship, saying that pressure to marry “deteriorates a relationship more than anything,” which explains why it took nearly a decade (and Federal prison bid) for TI to pop the question to Tiny.

Toward the end of the interview, a third host brings up the rumor of Tiny visiting T.I. in prison for “a little sexual encounter” between the two.

After brushing it off—“You know, that’s what the paper said”—T.I. went into a little more detail about how certain things are “handled” in prison.

“Their rules say that hands should be visible at all times,” he said of the prison. “If the hand is not visible, they imply or assume that certain activities is taking place.”

    Laughter in the studio ensued.

However, he went on to finally address the elephant in the room: “I’m not implying that the hand wasn’t visible,” cracking a knowing smile, “but I am denying that there was a full-fledged handjob … being accepted or given.”

As the interview ended, the four of them shared more laughs before T.I., smiling, said, “Don’t judge me!”

Listen to T.I.’s new track, "Here Ye, Hear Ye."
