Steve Harvey’s new show for ‘everyday people’

Although his cellphone contacts list probably reads like a Who’s Who of Hollywood, Steve Harvey said his new daytime talk show won’t focus on celebrities. He plans to shine the spotlight on everyday people.

“I got a talk show deal that’s coming out in 2012. It’s going to be everyday people,” Steve told “Access Hollywood.”

“The reason I chose not to do celebrities… real people never cancel. You’ve never had a real person cancel your show. Celebrities cancel all the time. They catch colds. Something else came up. Nothing comes up with a real person getting on TV,” he joked.

Steve, who has a birthday in January and wants to be “55 and fly”, didn’t give away too many secrets about his new show, but the program will be taping in Atlanta where he also hosts “Family Feud.”

The funnyman and his hilarious antics kept TV watchers well entertained last week. Steve showed up on “The Talk” and “Access Hollywood” to host mock games of “Feud,” and he clowned around with Ellen DeGeneres on her show.
