Pooch Hall: ‘You can’t force the sexy’

“The Game” actor Pooch Hall spoke with Sister 2 Sister Publisher Jamie Foster Brown recently to discuss his personal life, career and rise to stardom.

The former football star, who is considered a bona fide sex symbol, tried to stay modest while sharing a few pointers on finding your sexy.

Check out this excerpt from our interview with Pooch and get more in the December 2011 issue.

Jamie: Okay. You’re married, right? How do you do all this and be a celebrity sex symbol?
Pooch: I don’t know, man. You know what’s funny?

    Jamie: What?
Pooch: It’s like (laughs)—I’m not saying no names, but being a sex symbol, you can’t force the sexy. There are so many people that want to be sexy—

    Jamie: Right.
Pooch: —and they just try too hard. It’s like, “Yo, dawg, keep your shirt on.” (laughs) “We’re in a restaurant. Why you got your shirt off?”

Jamie: But isn’t sexy something in the way that you carry yourself also? Or the way you walk or something? It’s not just having that six-pack.

Pooch: It’s just “being.” You’ve got to be able to laugh at yourself. Like, look at Will [Smith]. People say he’s sexy. I just met Will at the BET Awards. That cat is the coolest.
