    Toure defends Academy’s decision

Social commentator Toure completely understands why Brett Ratner had to resign as the producer of the 2012 Academy Awards.

“The Oscars cannot have somebody who’s going around being tasteless and insensitive and classless," said Toure in reference to Brett’s comment, "Rehearsal is for fags."

"I think what the comment actually meant is ‘loser.’ I understand gay people being very upset about that comment," he said. "The Oscars can’t afford to go on with somebody that they can’t trust."

The day after Brett resigned, his partner Eddie Murphy announced that he would not be hosting the event.

Gayle and Toure also discussed what it means to be Black now.
