Even after an autopsy was completed, it’s still not clear what killed beloved rapper Heavy D.
The Los Angeles Times reports that the results of Heavy D’s autopsy are inconclusive. Determining an exact cause of death depends on the outcome of a toxicology test, which could take weeks to come back.
While a rep for the Los Angeles County coroner said that although no illegal drugs were found in the rapper’s home, he had been taking some prescription cough medicine.
Heavy D died at the age of 44 on November 8 after emergency crews were called to his house following reports that a man was lying on unconcious in front of his home. While he was awake and able to speak when paramedics arrived, he passed away an hour after being admitted to a hospital.
Investigators sill believe that Heavy D’s death is the result of medical problem. They don’t suspect foul play in his sudden passing.
Heavy D will be laid to rest on Friday, and the Associated Press reports that both Diddy and Al Sharpton are expected to speak at his funeral.
