Jennifer Hudson addressed rumors about her alleged breakup with fiancé David Otunga and assured that the two are still planning to walk down the aisle.
“We’re going to get married, and I know they said we had broken up. We’ve never broken up. We’re like, ‘Where did that come from?’ We’re still here,” she told “Access Hollywood.”
The singer and actress offered some advice for single ladies who might still be looking for their Prince Charming.
“Date in your hometown ’cause David and I are from Chicago. So, that’s our trick… common interests, similar backgrounds and a familiarness,” she said.
Jennifer can understand why some people might have assumed she and David had ended things. When they’re together, they’re away from the bright lights of Hollywood.
“We’re very busy people. He’s always on the road. I’m always on the road. I know people are like, ‘Why aren’t they together?’ We just do it at home in Chicago. That’s our meeting place, and that’s where our wedding will be …. at home in Chicago with family,” she said.
Staying out of the limelight doesn’t necessarily ensure that things won’t ever be a challenge for the couple. As Jennifer admitted, marriage is difficult whether it involves stars or just regular people.
“It’s overall hard anyway. At the end of the day, we’re all human, and we all have our relationship issues and our human issues, and I think because it’s celebrities it’s just magnified,” she said. “We’re people, too.”
