Rihanna may be bad and perfectly good at it, but when the pop star needed help to survive on stage, she called on the best: Beyoncé.
According to the UK’s Daily Mail, Rihanna had a near “meltdown” during the European leg of her 101-date concert tour, and turned to fellow superstar, Beyoncé, for advice. The soon-to-be mother and wife of Rihanna’s mentor, Jay-Z, reportedly told the 23-year-old singer to finish out the tour, but then take a yearlong break to rest and rejuvenate.
Bey’s words of wisdom may be just what the doctor ordered. Over the weekend, Rihanna tweeted: “I’m so light-headed! WTF!!!!”
The tweet followed a performance in Dublin, which according to the UK’s Sun, Rihanna threatened to cancel due to physical and mental exhaustion.
A source reportedly told the newspaper, “She’s just a young woman who just wants to have fun, but she was feeling pretty low. It’s a mix of exhaustion and stress. She’s been partying hard to take her mind off things, but there are days when she wakes up and doesn’t even know where she is because of the traveling.”
While many will no doubt question Beyoncé’s motives, it remains to be seen whether Rihanna will heed the advice of her rumored “frenemy,” and take a year off.
The singer has 16 more dates to fulfill as part of her Loud tour. Seven of those dates are in the UK.
