T.I. is reclaiming his spot as head of the house now that he’s back from prison in a new preview of "T.I. & Tiny: Family Hustle."
It looks like some time behind bars has prompted Tip to rearranged his priorities. Despite whatever persona he may portray on stage and for the public, T.I. is at the heart of it all a family man.
"I got six kids and my old lady depending on my hustle. I can’t make one single mistake," Tip said in the super trailer for his upcoming reality show. "Now that I’m back home, I’m going to make sure that we’re bigger and better than we ever were before."
Between two extended stints in prison, the Atlanta rapper knows that people have a lot to say about his criminal record and a lot of questions about it. T.I., however, is not interested in discussing his incarceration.
"America, listen: I was in prison. True. I did my time. Now I’m out," he addressed his prospective audience. "Now let’s never discuss this again. Ok?"
Tiny doesn’t seem to be talking about his lock up too much, either, but she’s not going to ignore the fact that his absence has affected their family. "Tip’s missed out on a lot being gone, and he’s got a lot to catch up on," she stated. "Everything he got back, he could lose again. And this time it’ll be forever."
Tip has pledged, though, that he’s going to stay out of trouble by keeping his family first and helping his kids achieve their dreams.
"Coming back home isn’t as easy as you think it would be," said T.I., who at one point scolds his kids for playing booty tag and sitting in the white room. But he isn’t always such an authoritarian. The Grand Hustle head also takes time to encourage his children and teach them how blessed they actually are. "No matter how long it took for me to get it right, as long as I get it right, it never get wrong again."
He added, "At the end of the day, the most important thing to me in the world: God, family, hustle. In that order."
See how T.I. readjusts to being home when "T.I. & Tiny: Family Hustle" debuts December 5 at 9 p.m. EST on VH1.
