Though she’s not part of the main cast (yet), Teairra Mari fits right in on "Love & Hip Hop."
Teairra’s camp announced that she was shooting episodes of the VH1 reality show over the summer. When promo pics for season 2 of "Love & Hip Hop" came out, though, many were surprised to find her missing.
Where was Teairra? Well, the singer popped up in the third episode of the season, when she visited her good friend Emily Bustamente.
"Emily, that’s my baby!" Teairra told TheYBF.com. "I have a small circle of good friends and she’s a part. We are such opposites so it levels out. I can be a bit of a firecracker and she brings a bit of calmness."
During the episode, Teairra took Emily out for a night on the town that found them at Kimbella’s party to celebrate her Black Men magazine cover. It all seemed a like set up (Emily and Kim dated Fab at the same time, so they’re not really cool), but Teairra swears it was sheer coincidence.
"I didn’t know it was Kimbella’s party before I invited Emily to come with me," Teairra explained. "But once I found out, I didn’t think it was a big deal. Emily was over it…it’s over now. Let the girl live."
In her opinion, Kimbella’s a cool girl that hasn’t gotten a fair shake. "Kimbella is a sweet girl and she’s misunderstood," said Teairra. "She’s really likable. I felt bad about judging her based on what I’d heard from the other girls."
In fact, she gets along well with all of the cast members pretty well—especially Chrissy Lampkin, who Teairra said isn’t nearly as tough as she appear on TV. "She’s like a big sister," said Teairra. "She’s a very loving person. She has a hard side but she’s a sweet woman. She’s good at giving advice. That tough exterior can easily be cracked."
If Teairra’s in so tight with the cast, will she become an official "Love & Hip Hop" lady as filming continues? "I have to see how the rest of this season plays out," she said. " I’m not saying ‘No’ as of now. I’d be open to it."
