Slimm reacts to Vivica Fox’s comment

Omar "Slimm" White is speaking out against Vivica Fox’s claims that she ended their engagement.

Despite what she may have told the media, in the January 2012 issues of Sister 2 Sister magazine (on stands Tuesday!), Slimm told us that he was the one to call it quits on their relationship.

"She’s a good woman; it’s just that sometimes you outgrow people. People have their own way of handling stress and communication," Slimm explained. "Over time you can only imagine that things add up. One day you might say, ‘Nah, I can just go my own direction.’ And that’s what happened."

He added, "The ego is one of the biggest destroyers. It’ll destroy any relationship and we had two strong people."

Slimm was shocked to discover that he and Vivica graced the cover of Sister 2 Sister‘s December 2011 issue. That’s mainly because he had no clue Vivica had even chatted with us about their relationship and the wedding they were planning.

"Honestly, I hadn’t spoken to her in about two months," Slimm told S2S Publisher Jamie Foster Brown, admitting that he and Vivica had a few more "ups and downs" before the final split. "I’m assuming that when she got the word that the interview would happen, she probably was banking on us getting back together."

Now, Slimm’s also penned an open letter to set the record straight about who really broke up with whom after Vivica told "Access Hollywood" that she dumped the Atlanta promoter.

He was a little offended when he caught wind that Vivica said she’d try "something different" next time when it comes to love because "I happened to fall in love with a six pack and a smile and look what that’s gotten me."

As upset as he was, he still tried to be diplomatic. "I totally understand that a person would rather save face and avoid admitting their fiancé ended the relationship. So I understood why Vivica didn’t admit the reality of what really took place," he wrote.

"She would have come out better if she stated we went our separate ways if she wanted to avoid the ‘true’ nature of the breakup," Slimm added. "The main thing is don’t lie… she and I know what happened so just be cordial and keep it moving."

Get more on why Slimm stopped the wedding when you pick up the January 2012 issue of Sister 2 Sister magazine.
