Toni Braxton just wants to be an individual apart from her sisters and the family business.
On the next episode of "Braxton Family Values," Toni explains why she doesn’t really feel like doing a family album. Her sister Tamar Braxton might feel like music is the family’s thing, but Toni disagrees.
"Music has been Toni Braxton’s family business," she said during a dinner-time dispute with her youngest sister.
"It doesn’t allow me to grow as an artist when I’m surrounded by my family because it becomes so engrossed with family all [the] time," Toni explained. "I can’t be who I need to be because I am stuck in the role of older sister."
See how things boiled over when the topic of the album cropped up again in this sneak peek of the upcoming "Braxton Family Values" episode.
That same sentiment may also have applied to Toni’s relationship with ex-manager Vincent Herbert, her brother-in-law. Could this be the moment when she decided to end their business relationship?
Tamar, Vince’s wife, thinks the struggles in Toni’s career might not necessarily be a management issue.
"Everyone else he’s managing is winning right now," said Tamar. "Sometimes it’s the artist, not everybody else."
Find out how the sisters resolve this argument when the next episode of "Braxton Family Values" airs Thursday at 9 p.m. EST on WE tv.
