NeNe Leakes to play rival on ‘Glee’

The way NeNe Leakes argues with her co-stars on Bravo’s reality series, “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” it’s not a big surprise that Fox is casting her as a rival on “Glee.”

NeNe’s character, Roz, will be taking on Sue Sylvester, the McKinley High cheerleading coach, Lea Michele and Chris Colfer announced on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live!”

An obviously excited NeNe took to Twitter to confirm the news.

“The secret is out! YES I hav a recurring role on GLEE! I’m coach Roz Washington the synchronized swim coach! So honored,” tweeted NeNe, who participated on NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice,” but hasn’t done much acting in recent years.

“Coach Roz Washington is gonna get that Sue Sylvester! I’m so proud of myself,” she added.

    Laura Govan slim and trim

When “Basketball Wives: LA” premiered earlier this year, some viewers had harsh criticism for Laura Govan, who was still carrying baby weight from a recent pregnancy.

However, the reality star and fiancée of Gilbert Arenas has slimmed down significantly, and as usual, that’s brought out some haters.

Of course, Laura took to Twitter to defend herself against rumors that she’s had surgery to trim her figure.

“As far as me losing weight! Its called working hard NOT surgery!! Lol when Negative ppl know nothing about!” she wrote.

    Sheree Whitfield disses NeNe Leakes

Reality stars have found a good way to profit off of ill feelings toward their castmates: put it in a song.

Jim Jones’ mother did it on “Love & Hip Hop” when her son’s lady irked her nerves, and now “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star, Sheree Whitfield, is following suit.
Sheree already put her “Who Gon’ Check Me, Boo?” slogan on T-shirts, and now that’s the title of her new song.

In it, she sings: “Thinking that you’re hotter is straight foolery, if you don’t know I think you better go and Google me… It takes more than money in this world to live happy.”

Sheree’s delivery on the track is a mix between talking and singing. It’s unclear whether Kandi Burruss had anything to do with producing the single, but the overall consensus is that the former Xscape group member had nothing to do with it.

‘The Help’ stars discuss movie backlash

While The Help is receiving acclaim from Hollywood, stars Octavia Spencer and Viola Davis haven’t forgotten that many had a serious bone to pick with the ‘60s-era film.

“I knew that it had to be handled very carefully, and I knew that it was going to be a backlash from the African-American community. It’s a story set in 1962 about maids who are not educated, and I thought that people would look at that and not see the work,” Octavia said. “I just felt that it would be controversy, and I didn’t necessarily want to embrace that.”

Viola said she accepted the role, in part, because the character defied stereotypes.

“It was such a chance for me to really go on the journey with the character,” she said.

    Mathew Knowles artists banned

Mathew Knowles just recently officially divorced from his wife Tina, but now he’s found himself in the doghouse with another major businesswoman, Cathy Hughes.

The head of Radio One and sister company TV One has reportedly decided to restrict all of Mathew’s music artists from her radio stations.

Apparently, Cathy feels that Mathew violated an exclusivity deal giving TV One exclusive rights to the Essence Music Festival.

“All Radio One personnel were told to pull all Music World artists out of rotation immediately and indefinitely! We were told that the mandate came straight from Ms. Hughes and that there would be ramifications for anyone playing or mentioning a Music World artist or song on air,” a Radio One employee told EURweb.com.

“Radio One owns at least 12 gospel stations across the country – that’s the majority.  It’s hard for artists to sell CDs without radio airplay!  Right now Music World definitely isn’t getting any from Radio One,” the source explained.
