Don’t hold your breath for an Xscape reunion. Kandi Burruss said it’s not happening.
In the February 2012 issue of Sister 2 Sister, on stands next week, the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star said that she’s got no plans to hook up with the group that made her a music star.
Kandi is all about her hustle, and her earnings from Xscape the first time around didn’t match the group’s success.
"I don’t want to give no exact numbers, but we didn’t make that much money off of our albums for us to have three platinum albums," she told S2S. "We really didn’t get a lot of money as a group."
It’s not just about money, though. Kandi said that reunion wouldn’t work on an interpersonal level either.
"We didn’t get along and didn’t make that much money together," Kandi explained. "Why would I go back for a headache and I ain’t really make that much money in the situation? That don’t make sense."
She does still work with one of her former group mates, Tameka "Tiny" Harris, who is married to T.I. The pair have been able to maintain their friendship, and things with them are good enough that Kandi will be lending her award-winning, platinum-selling writing skills to The OMG Girls.
"I’m supposed to be helping her with her girl group," Kandi told S2S. "I’m going to do a song for [The OMG Girls]. Tiny is doing her thing."
When asked about the possibility of a reunion during her appearance on "Watch What Happens Live," Kandi simply replied "No." The reality star also let it slip, though, that she’s got a new man in her life.
Kandi also weighed in on Sheree Whitfield’s new single "Who Gon Check Me Boo," which she called a "novelty song."
