Amber Rose apologized for calling Kim Kardashian a homewrecker, but she didn’t deny her distaste for the Kardashian publicity machine.
“I feel like her and her family manipulate the media. They make it seem like me and Reggie did something bad, or I broke up her relationship with Reggie [Bush], and that’s not the case,” Amber told the DJs at 105.1 in New York.
In a recent interview with Star magazine, Amber defended herself against persistent rumors that she’s the reason Kim and Reggie broke up. According to Amber, Kim was the reason she and Kanye West ended things. That’s what led Amber to call Kim a “homewrecker,” but Amber wasn’t pleased that she attacked Kim that way.
“I’m not the type of person to hurt anyone’s feelings, even if they hurt mine first. I feel bad for calling her a homewrecker. I’m all about women empowerment. I feel like I stooped down to her level by calling her a homewrecker. I didn’t want to do that. It was just the heat of the moment,” she said.
While Amber did have a relationship with Reggie, she said they were both on the rebound, helping one another heal from the respective betrayals.
“We knew what it was. Both of our feelings were very hurt over the situation,” she said. “We never told anybody. We never told the media what happened, but the story is very, very true, what I said in Star magazine.”
Although her relationship with her ex is still a huge topic of conversation, Amber asserts that she is madly in love with new beau Wiz Khalifa, who encouraged her to pursue her music career.
“I always wrote music. I’m kinda quiet and shy a little bit. I brought my music to Wiz, and he was like, ‘Babe, you can do this. You can really, really do this,’” said Amber, who released a new track this week.
“I prepared myself for the criticism, for people to just hate even if they did like it. It’s been nothing but positive feedback, so I’m happy,” she said.
It’s not surprising that she was bracing herself for an onslaught of hate. Amber said she’s even had people throw stuff at her on the street after Kanye’s songs suggested she was a gold digger.
“When Kanye referred to me in his songs, he didn’t care about the repercussions. He didn’t care that I had to walk around in the street and people are throwing things at me. He didn’t care that I had this celebrity status now, and people recognize me,” said Amber, who tries not to talk about her ex much, but is now tired of the lies.
“I’m just angry of what people think about the situation,” she said.
Does Amber still sleep with women? Why did she initially decide to shave her head? Watch.
