NeNe Leakes is going to give "Glee" villain Sue Sylvester a run for her money this season!
NeNe will take on the role of synchronized swim coach, Roz Washington going head-to-head with the cheer coach, who is hell-bent on destroying The New Directions. So far, Sue has been able to rule the school with nothing more than an iron fist and her trust track suits.
But things may change when Roz makes a splash at McKinley High School. "She’s very strong willed, she’s very straightforward. She’s not afraid of Sue Sylvester," NeNe told "The Insider" of her character. "She’s there to take somebody’s job.""
Unlike Roz, NeNe is more likely to be posted by the pool in a deck chair taking a sip rather than in the pool taking a dip. So when the "Real Housewives of Atlanta" saw the pool Fox had set up for swim scenes, she was a little nervous.
"I’m not that kind of swimmer, I’m like, ‘I’m a Black girl. I can’t get my hair all wet now. Come on,’" NeNe said, who has yet to dive in at this time. She speculates that she will be getting her feet wet at some point, though. "I’m sure they’re coming up with a way to put me in the water, and I’m gonna just die!"
Between her role on "Glee" and an upcoming guest spot on "The Game," some may wonder if NeNe is waving goodbye to reality TV. "I was into acting long before I was a reality star, so I would absolutely love to continue to act," she explained. "Whether or not I would leave reality TV, I don’t know. I can say it’s very negative and it pulls your energy down."
With all this talk of Hollywood, "The Insider" wanted to know if NeNe would ever think of switching cities and appearing on "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." "Right now I think they [Bravo] like me in Atlanta," she said, joking that the Beverly Hills cast may not be able to handle her. "I would give them a run for their money."
Of course, "The Insider" also wanted a straight answer about unconfirmed reports that she is dating her business partner John Kolaj. Unfortunately for them, she wasn’t giving one, and it doesn’t seem as though the public should expect one any time soon.
"I will never have a public relationship again, I don’t think," NeNe said. "That’s one of the regrets I have, is putting my personal relationship out there. Gregg and I are not totally done. We are going through, but who knows what the future holds."
She added, "I don’t know about putting my personal relationship out there, but do I have secret admirers? Of course!"
