Amber Rose breaks down
All the haters are a little too much for Amber Rose to handle. The model, who is currently dating Wiz Khalifa, broke down in tears on "Rap Fix Live" yesterday while discussing how far her love life has come.
"Wiz knows that I’ve never loved a man the way I love him," Amber told host Sway. "He knows that, he’s very secure with that. He knows that know matter what I would never go back to that."
The "that" Amber was referring to is ex-boyfriend Kanye West, who has taken his share of shots at the model since their breakup. Despite a few recent comments about Kim Kardashian, Amber has been relatively quiet about the aftermath of their relationship by comparison.
"No one knows what I’ve been through. The things that I’ve had to deal with when Kanye made his album," Amber said. "And he talked reckless about me on his album. And then I have people throwing things at me in the street because they’re fans of Kanye’s."
The Help sweeps Critics Choice Awards
The Help, starring Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer, cleaned up nicely at the Critic’s Choice Awards.
Viola won for Best Actress, while Octavia took home the prize for Best Supporting Actress. Apparently, that wasn’t enough love for the film as The Help also won the award for Best Ensemble.
Viola gave a very touching acceptance speech where she honored the woman she was portraying in the film.
“The two most important days in a person’s life are the day you were born and the day you discover why you were born,” she said. “I considered it my honor to pay homage to these women at this time period who were not allowed to dream and not allowed to find their purpose but thank God, praise God they gave birth to me and my mother.”
Joyful Noise is about more than music
Joyful Noise might sound a bit like a reincarnation of Sister Act with a downtrodden choir entering a singing competition, but it’s more than just that.
“It’s about a small town that’s suffering from the economy. It’s about people running out of money, and we’ve had the choir that we’ve been competing for years, and now we can’t afford to do it,” explained Dolly on "Today." Dolly’s character assumes she’s taking over the choir, but ends up disappointed.
Dolly co-stars with Queen Latifah, who is her nemesis in the film.
“We wind up being competitive because I get the job that she probably could have gotten … It definitely creates some tension,” Latifah said.
The actors said the movie is also about parents letting go, teens spreading their wings, military families and more.
“it’s a very positive movie,a dn the music is really so uplifting. This is really that movie that you’ll walk out feeling so good,” Latifah said.
