“I’m back. I’m not dead,” joked Nick Cannon in a video he posted Wednesday that looked to be recorded from his office in Times Square.
Nick’s first order of business was to show gratitude to those who were worried about him following his recent hospitalization.
“I’m feeling good, feeling healthy. I appreciate all the love, all the concern, all the letters and emails and texts, people sending me flowers and stuff. For you all that don’t know what happened, I actually was under the weather,” he said.
Reports varied about the cause of Nick’s health scare. His wife Mariah Carey tweeted that he suffered from mild kidney failure, but others reported that it was just dehydration.
While he seemed to be feeling better, Nick’s description of his condition sounded like a bit more than just dehydration.
“I did have some major issues with my kidneys along with some other stuff, but really I had just overworked my body,” he said. “I’m feeling good now, but I had to learn the lesson the hard way … My organs kind of just gave out and because of that, the doctors had to reboot my entire immune system. I’m working through that now,” he said, while vowing not to become overworked in the future.
“I’m being patient, ain’t about the grind all the time, making sure I stop and smell the roses, keeping my family first, loving my wife for taking care of me through all of this, enjoying my kids and enjoying you guys. I don’t have time for negativity,” he said.
Nick also thanked his wife during Saturday’s taping of the BET Honors, where she was honored by Aretha Franklin and Kelly Rowland.
