‘The Help’ snags four Oscar noms

With The Help scoring four Academy Award nominations, Viola Davis has yet another shot at an Oscar!

She may have been snubbed at the Golden Globes this year, but awards season isn’t over yet.

Viola has been nominated in the Actress in a Leading Role category for her portrayal of Aibileen Clark in The Help. Glenn Close, Meryl Streep, Rooney Mara and Michelle Williams are also up for the award.

This will be Viola’s second chance at an Oscar. She was nominated for the Actress in a Supporting Role award in 2009 for her performance in Doubt. Taraji P. Henson also snagged a nomination that year for the honor thanks to her role in the Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

This year, The Help also swept the category for Actress in a Supporting Role. Both Octavia Spencer and Jessica Chastain, who played Celia Foote, have been nominated for the award.

The Help also has a shot at taking home the top prize this year with its nomination for Best Picture. It’s one of nine films in the category.

See how many awards The Help wins when the 84th Academy Awards air February 26 on a 7 p.m EST on ABC.
