The network that once aired the raunchy video show, “Uncut,” is taking aim at Nicki Minaj, banning her new music video for “Stupid Hoe.”
A rep for the network didn’t go into detail but confirmed to TMZ that Nicki’s latest artistic expression won’t be broadcast on “106 & Park” or any other BET show.
Although the video is far from reaching the level of offensiveness of those that aired on “Uncut,” it does feature what appears to be Nicki’s bare bottom, other scantily clad women and the repeated phrase, “Stupid Hoe.”
While the music video isn’t airing on BET, other networks, such as MTV Jamz, aren’t shying away from it.
If recent history is any indication, the ban will likely only call more attention to Nicki’s video from those who flock to YouTube and other websites to find out what all the fuss is about. The video has already collected more than 20 million views since it was posted less than a month ago.
So far BET, which years ago also banned guns from music videos that air on the network, hasn’t explained exactly which aspects of the video crossed the line.
Nicki isn’t new to causing controversy with her performances. Last year, she was fined $1,000 by Jamaican authorities when she used foul language onstage.
If you missed it, watch “Stupid Hoe.”
