Tyler Perry talks TylerVision, Kim Kardashian
Tyler Perry’s got a very clear vision for what he wants his TV network, TylerVision, to be. The media mogul told Jay Leno that he wants it to fulfill the same purpose that all of his work does.
"Everything I’ve done—every film I’ve done, all the television shows—it’s all about positivity, inspiration, uplifting people," said Tyler, who also graces the March 2012 issue of Sister 2 Sister. "I wanted to start a network where you could turn it on for five minutes or five hours and be uplifted because there are so many that’s bringing us down."
Tyler has gotten some pointers on running a network from his good friend Oprah Winfrey, whose network has been on the air for just over a year. Some might question the logic of that since many feel they may be in direct competition for ratings, but Tyler disagrees. "No, it’s very different type of programming from what she’s doing and the vision of OWN and where I’ll be."
He wasn’t clear about whether or not his channel would include any reality shows, but check out what he had to say about reality TV darling Kim Kardashian (and his decision to cast her in The Marriage Counselor) below.
‘Malcolm X’ turns 20
It may be hard to believe, but it’s been 20 years since Malcolm X was released! Warner Home Video and Spike Lee are celebrating the milestone by releasing the film on Blu-Ray.
Along with the film itself, the disc set includes a number of features, such as nine previously deleted scenes and a behind-the-scenes look. The Malcolm X Blu-Ray, available now for $34.99, also comes with a 40-page book on the film.

Tyrese release "Nothing on You"
When Tyrese shot his video for "Nothing on You," Chilli was the only choice for his leading lady.
The crooner told Global Grind that no one else could really fit the image in his mind better than she. "There’s only so many women out here that have this natural beauty thing going on. I think Chilli’s beauty and her innocence and energy is timeless," he explained. "She has a very sweet and a very reserved energy about her that’s just really, really special. I’ve known her for years, but we’ve never done anything together."
Now that they have gotten a chance to work together, tell us if you think they have any chemistry in the video below!
Usher’s back with ‘Climax’
Daddy’s home! Usher has just dropped his first new song in a while with the release of "Climax."
Unlike the steamy theme that the title may suggest, the song is more about struggling to make a relationship work.
‘For Better or Worse’ renewed
Marcus and Angela will be staying on your TV just a wee bit longer. According to The Hollywood Reporter, TBS has renewed "For Better or Worse."
The network will pick up another 35 episodes of the Tyler Perry dramedy. "For Better or Worse," starring Michael Jai White and Tasha Smith, debuted back in November. Since there, the show has averaged 2.9 million viewers.
“Tyler Perry’s shows have proven to be a popular draw for TBS on Friday nights," said TBS exec Michael Wright. "We’re very happy to keep that trend going by ordering more episodes."
New episodes of "For Better or Worse" will return to its Friday night slot starting this summer.
