Nicki Minaj opens NBA All-Star game
Nicki Minaj got intergalactic for her performance at the 2012 NBA All-Star game.
The female rapper opened the game with starry versions of "Moment 4 Life" and "Turn Me On." She was backed up by dancers decked out in white bodysuits or silver pants and gogo boots.
The theme of her set made a little more sense when she launched into "Starships" before the East team made its entrance, with starters who had just a little more swag upon arrival than their West-coast rivals.
West wins NBA All-Star game
Kobe Bryant and the West team took the prize at the NBA All-Star game this weekend.
According to reports, Kobe has now surpassed Michael Jordan’s scoring record for the most points in an all-star game.
LeBron James, who played for the the East, isn’t bitter about the loss. "You know, you have some of the best competitors out on the floor at the same time," he told reporters. "Not only me and Kobe, but D-Wade and Durant and [Carmelo Anthony] and [Chris Paul], and all the rest of the guys. We all wanted to win, and it came down to the last minute or last seconds."
MVP Kevin Durant was glad to see that the East gave the West such a fight for the win. "It was fun," he said. "That’s the type of All-Star game you want to see."

Drake and Common play nice
It seems like Drake and Common have buried the hatchet. The rappers, who had been locked in a brief beef over the last few months, came face to face at the NBA All-Star game this weekend.
The pair were snapped having what looked like a rather pleasant conversation, which is a far cry from their reported run-in at the Grammys earlier this month.

Beyoncé does lunch with baby Blue
The Carter family had a lunch date in New York City this weekend. Beyoncé and Jay-Z were spotted taking their newborn daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, out for a bite to eat on Saturday.
Bey ditched her usual stilettos for high-top sneakers (you may recognize them from the "Love on Top" video) while carrying the newborn, but she kept her more relaxed look fashionable by slipping on a pair of leather leggings.

"This is the day that the Lord has made, I truly rejoice and am glad it is! This was one of the most profound days of my life and my ministry," she stated in a comment. "How amazing I feel to serve God, I made a very personal decision to dedicate my life to the service of the kingdom of God.
