Michelle Williams prepping new music

If you’re not much of a theatergoer, it may seem like Michelle Williams has been missing in action for a while; but she’ll be back in the studio soon.

“The past three years, I’ve been doing theater. One year in London, then Broadway. Then the whole year of last year, I was touring in another play called "What My Husband Doesn’t Know."

In the David E. Talbert play, Michelle played Lena Summer, a woman whose neglectful husband left her tempted to stray from her marriage. The production, which co-stars Clifton Davis and Brian White, is available on DVD.

“This year I need to focus on the music. I haven’t released an album since 2008 ‘cause I got caught up in theater. So, I’m just excited to get back to music,” she said.

However, Michelle isn’t just interested in her own career. The former R&B singer, who’s now a Stellar Award-nominated gospel artist, is helping other singers of that genre in the Most Powerful Voices gospel contest.

Even though she’s busy with music, Michelle took time from her schedule to be there for former Destiny’s Child band member, Beyoncé, when the new mom brought her daughter Blue Ivy home from the hospital.
