Romeo Miller is returning to sitcom TV in the new musical series, “RESQ3m.”
Although he competed on “Dancing With the Stars” and showed up on an episode of “Charlie’s Angels,” Romeo’s last regular TV series was Nickelodeon’s “Romeo!” which he starred in as a teen.
He’s teaming up again with “Romeo!” producer Tom Lynch for the new series, which has been described as a “musical sitcom with drama elements.”
“It’s great to be back in business with Romeo,” Tom told Deadline.com. “From 2003 to 2006 we had a #1 series on Nickelodeon, and with Romeo’s experience, poised acting skills, comedic timing, built-in fan base, and musical success, we are expecting to repeat history with another hit TV show.”
The show also serves as a vehicle for Romeo’s rap/rock band of the same name, RESQ3.
“It’s the first teen TV show with a hip-hop, rock and pop sound,” said Romeo, who is the new CEO of No Limit Records, which his father, Master P, founded.
In the meantime, Romeo is working on Tyler Perry’s new film, Madea’s Witness Protection, and guest starring on VH1’s “Single Ladies.” The young heartthrob tweeted photos of himself on set with LisaRaye McCoy and Denise Vasi.
