While Holly Robinson Peete asserts that she doesn’t know why she was released from her co-hosting duties on “The Talk,” her former co-star Leah Remini blames Sharon Osbourne.
“Sharon thought me and Holly were ‘ghetto,’ (her words) we were not funny, awkward and didn’t know ourselves… She had us fired,” Leah said.
In December, Sharon shared her POV with Howard Stern on his radio show.
“Some people don’t really know who they are," said Sharon. "You have to know who you are when you’re in something like this. You can’t pretend to be something you’re not. You have to know your brand. You can’t be all things to everyone. And the other thing is, I always say, ‘I’m not running for public office. I don’t care if people like me or not.’"
She also admitted that she talked to higher-ups at CBS to let them know she felt the chemistry between Holly and Leah and the rest of the co-hosts didn’t work.
“It either works or it doesn’t work. If it doesn’t work, you move on,” she said.
While Sharon has been the most outspoken about the ladies’ departure, many still point the finger at co-host Julie Chen, who is the wife of CBS exec Leslie Moonves.
So far, Holly hasn’t commented on Leah’s claim.
