Cissy Houston speaks on Whitney

Cissy Houston is still recovering after the tragic, sudden death of her daughter Whitney Houston.

In her first interview since Whitney’s passing, Cissy told New Jersey’s My9 WWOR that she’s still heartbroken over the loss, but she’s getting better.

"I have my moments," she admitted. "I’m not there yet. I don’t think I’m more courageous than anyone else. I am a true believer in God, if I could bring her back I would, but that’s not possible."

Helping her to cope with Whitney’s death is the fact that Cissy knows there’s nothing she could have done to prevent it. "I know I did the best I could," said Cissy. "I don’t blame myself. I know I did the best I could for everything."

In the wake of her daughter’s untimely demise, Cissy said she knows that Whitney left behind an amazing legacy. Whatever her personal struggles, Cissy is confident that Whitney will be remembered more for her talent than anything else.

"I’m very proud of my daughter," Cissy said. "She accomplished a whole lot in the short time that she had here…she was a very wonderful person."

Cissy concluded "She was very special to me. She was my only daughter, and a good one. Looked out for her family."
