Rihanna talks Chris Brown reunion

Rihanna is making no apologies for being on good terms with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown and working with him again.

The "We Found Love" singer, who graces the May cover of Elle, said she’s stands by her decision to do two collaborations with Chris. Despite their infamous fight in February 2009, Rihanna has continued to defend the reunion.

"I respect what other people have to say. The bottom line is that everyone thinks differently," she told Elle. "It’s very hard for me to accept, but I get it."

And RiRi’s not overly concerned with what people think of her for being cool with a man that once left her beaten up on the side of the road in the middle of the night. She’s gotten over it, and she thinks anyone who’s still stuck on it should really find a better use of their time.

"People end up wasting their time on the blogs or whatever, ranting away, and that’s all right. I don’t hate them for it," said Rihanna, who has been rumored to be hooking up with Chris. "Tomorrow I’m still going to be the same person. I’m still going to do what I want to do."

Rihanna admits that her bold new attitude has a lot to do with the fall out from her battle with Breezy just hours before the Grammys three years ago. In fact, she credits the incident with making her the woman she is now.

"It gave me guns," Rihanna explained. "I was like, ‘Well, f*ck. They know more about me than I want them to know.’ It’s embarrassing. But that was my opening. That was my liberation, my moment of, ‘Bring it.’ I wanted people to know who I am. Whatever they take that to be, good or bad, I just want them to know the truth."

Having the public know the details of such a terrible incident has also made Rihanna open about other aspects of her life. She doesn’t tend to keep secrets now because she feels they can be very binding on how she wants to live.

"I have more freedom the more people know about me," she explained. "It’s like, one less skeleton in the closet, one less burden, one less secret; now you know that, so you can say what you want about it. I don’t have anything to hide."
