    Nas talks lack of respect for rap

    Nas knows exactly why rap has had to struggle for respect in the music world. In The Art of Rap, the New York lyricist explained that the genre was so outside of the norm that the mainstream did not want to acknowledge it at first.

    Rappers also didn’t always use proper English, Nas added, so many didn’t consider it a legitimate art form.

    Nicki Minaj to launch a fragrance

    Nicki Minaj is about to beez on the beauty counter for her next business venture. WWD.com reports that Nicki will be unveiling her own fragrance this fall.

    "I have always been a huge fan of great fragrances," said Nicki. "This is yet another extension of my creative expression and I can’t wait to share it with the world. I designed this scent and bottle with my Barbz in mind; I know they will love it!"

    It’s not clear whether Nicki will be going fruity or floral, sugary or spicy, but whichever she prefers is sure to be provocative.

    Kim Kardashian running for office?

    Kim Kardashian’s got a plan for her life after she leaves reality TV.

    "I decided I’m going to run for the mayor of Glendale," Kim revealed during the upcoming episode of "Khloé and Lamar."

    It’s not something she’s taking lightly as she and a friend are “looking into all of the requirements.” Supposedly Glendale, California’s large Armenian population is what drew her to the city.

    Madea got dolled up for her first plane ride, but it’s going to take a little liquid courage to keep her calm. While she’s freaking out, it’s Eugene Levy’s job to remind her that she’s perfectly safe.

    Sheree puts herself up for auction

    One lucky man with a little extra cash was able to buy some of Sheree Whitfield’s time last night.

    StraightFromTheA.com reports that Sheree sold herself as part of a celebrity date auction for charity.

    Proceeds from Tuesday’s auction went to benefit Bert’s Big Adventure, Captain Planet Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation
