Jennifer Williams files suit for ‘BBW’ slap

Jennifer Williams is fighting back filing a lawsuit against Nia Crooks who slapped her on national TV.

TheNew York Daily News reports that Jen just filed a lawsuit against Nia in New York late this morning. On top of that, she’s also filing criminal complaints against Nia in Florida. The legal action is simply Jen making good on her threat to press charges for the assualt.

Jen claims that the attack, which happened back in January, has had lasting effects on her as she still suffers from whiplash and post traumatic stress. The incident was shown on Monday’s episode of "Basketball Wives" as Nia, who works for Jen’s ex-BFF Evelyn Lozada, strutted around the table to slap Jen in the face.

It was hard for Jen to watch Monday’s show because she feels the footage is "disturbing" and "humiliating." In fact, she stated that, "I get anxiety just thinking about it."

Jen’s attorney Sanford Rubenstein explained why the charges were being filed in two different states for the same incident, which happened at a luxury racetrack in Florida.

"This civil complaint is being filed by Jennifer Williams to hold Nia Crooks accountable civilly for the assault and battery which took place on the episode of ‘Basketball Wives’ which aired the evening of April 16th 2012," he said in a statement. "A criminal complaint filed by Jennifer Williams is presently under investigation by the office of the States Attorney in Florida."

In February, Jennifer spoke to the DJs at Power 105.1 radio stating, “I’m not going to hit you physically. I’m going to hit you with a lawsuit. I’m not tolerating abuse whether it’s from a man or a woman. You can’t put your hands on people and there be no repercussions.”

According to TheYBF.com, Jen will also be holding a press conference about the charges tomorrow in New York City.
