Sheree Whitfield has confirmed that she is in fact leaving "The Real Housewives of Atlanta."
"Yes it is official I’m leaving Real Housewives of Atlanta. I enjoyed my time working with everyone affiliated with the show," she revealed in a statement.
And she asserted that her departure was entirely her decision, contrary to rumors that she was being fired over salary demands. In her words, she just got tired of all the drama and backstabbing.
"After four solid seasons of helping Bravo build the show into its most successful ‘Housewives’ franchise, I have decided to leave," she said. "The direction the show is going in is no longer a fit for my lifestyle. I’m tired of the fighting and the cattiness.”
She concluded, “I want to be part of something that empowers and inspires women to not only be healthy, but to treat themselves with respect. I wish the rest of the women the best of luck. I’m thrilled to say I’m now a free agent and am already fielding offers.”
And there are no hard feelings from the network that made her a star. A rep for Bravo told Wetpaint Entertainment, “We have enjoyed working with Sheree as part of ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’. We wish her all the best in the future."
