Rapper Trip Lee is topping the charts with his fourth studio album The Good Life which was released on April 10. The album peaked at No. 2 on both iTunes Album and Hip-Hop Albums charts and is now the No. 3 hip-hop album in the country.

“It’s crazy for my album to be third top rap album in the country. This kind of response always blows me away. Our supporters came out strong, and a lot of new folks got to check me out for the first time,” he stated. “I’m really grateful and I hope people enjoy the album. I also hope the music makes people think about what it really means to live the good life.”

The Christian rap album debuted at no. 17 on the Billboard Top 200 selling 22,000 units.

Trip Lee told HipHop DX that his perception of what the “good life” is changed over time.

“I can just remember thinking that the good life was trying to stack as much paper as I could, get as many females as I could, or whatever, then my eyes were opened to the truth,” he said. “I don’t want to live in light of those lies anymore. I actually want to pursue what I know is true. I hope it challenges people to live the way we were created to live.”

The Dallas native premiered his first album If They Only Knew in 2006, and from there he declared that he was only going to do Christian hip-hop.

Now at the age of 24, he is finishing his Biblical and Theological studies degree while balancing his music career.

He plans to release his third single “Fallin” from off of the album and will begin his six-day tour in May.
